I took my first group to Europe when I went with 22 people to Spain in 1992. Since then I have learned the right way (and I avoid the wrong way) to travel to Europe.
Before each trip, I find out what YOU want to see and do in Paris. This tour is designed with your preferences in mind.
Group travel is fun. Much more fun than traveling by yourself or one other person. You'll meet people from all over, enjoy dinners and lunch together, and tour with people who want to see what you want to see.
I travel with small, manageable groups. We stay in centrally located, select hotels. I customize the Paris travel experience and give you the personal attention that you need. Of course we will see the major sites of Paris, but if you wish, we can also see the Paris that most people never see. For instance, I once took a group to a special exhibit on the construction of the Statue of Liberty. The museum curator said that I was the only private travel guide to bring travelers there. It was one of the highlights of the trip.
Included on Your Trip:
- 6 Nights Accommodations in a clean, comfortable, and quiet hotel in a safe, central location. All rooms have a private bath. Hotel is rated as a "2-star" or "3-star".
- Our hotel is located in the middle of the heart of Paris, the Latin Quarter. It is within steps of the metro and within easy walking distance of major attractions such as Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Orsay museum.
- Welcome Dinner. Start the trip off on the right foot and get to know your travel companions.
- All city transportation on Paris metro and bus system for your entire stay.
- Trip to Versailles including admission and RER train transportation.
- Paid admission to over 60 attractions including the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Picasso Museum, Arc de Triomphe and more with NO waiting in line. Each traveler will be issued a 6-day Museum Pass.
- Small group size. I will only take 12-18 people with me to Paris. No cattle-car bus trips. We see Paris as it should be seen - as travelers, not tourists.
- Trip to Giverney - home of Monet. Train travel (no tour busses on this trip) and admission included.
- Personalized, attentive service. I will be at your service for the entire trip. I stay in the same hotel as you do. I will be available each morning and evening to help you plan your daily activities. If you wish, you may accompany me on my daily sightseeing activities or you may choose to go on your own. Nothing beats having a personal travel consultant who can answer all of your questions, guide you throughout your stay, and act as your personal concierge, offering advice on dining, shopping, directions, and other activities.
- Cost: Only $1,495. Based upon double occupancy.
Useful Notes:
- Hotels in Paris are smaller and have more "character" than those in the U.S.
- If you accompany me on my flight from New York JFK to Paris, I will be more than happy to travel with you to or from airport provided you have carry-on luggage.
- It would be my pleasure to communicate with you prior to the trip via e-mail or telephone.
- You must be able to walk 4-6 miles daily, up and down stairs, and on different grades of pavement in order to accompany me on tours.
- Airfare is NOT included. This allows you the most flexibility in planning your trip. It is strongly suggested that you obtain travel insurance for your flight. Some travelers choose to extend their trip.
- Each traveler under 21 years of age must be accompanied by an adult over 30 years of age.
- The cost is probably less than what you would pay if you arranged the trip by yourself
The cost: Only $1,495. From information about the trip you can download, click HERE.

Join me, Steve Solosky, the Traveling Professor (yes, I really am a professor), and let me introduce you to my exciting world of people and places you've always dreamed about.
I've been traveling to Paris on a regular basis for about 10 years now. Sometimes, I feel like I know it better than my hometown, New York City. Over the years I have visited nearly every attraction in Paris that you can think of. I have also visited many "attractions" that I am sure that you have never heard of. I enjoy keeping up on the latest travel to Paris developments and issues and passing them on to you as I receive them. I will also show you how to spend less money and enjoy Paris more.
This website contains a wealth of information about travel to Paris. Probably the most popular item is the free Paris travel guide that you can download immediately. It has been distributed over 10,000 times now and I get positive comments on my free Paris travel guide almost on a daily basis. TravelingProfessor.com also is a resource for great travel links, a travel forum, and some specialized articles on the Paris travel blog.
You'll notice that there are no paid advertisements or promotions on this site, so don't worry about being blasted with all sorts of ads and pitches. It's just a place where we can all share our thoughts about travel to Paris.

Traveling with Steve was great! He knows all the good attractions, restaurants, and every little nook and cranny of Paris. We enjoyed things that I never knew existed in Paris. Maria D., Floral Park, N.Y.
His advice was right on in terms of where to stay in Paris. It was a lovely 3-star hotel that no one I know of has ever heard about. But we were right smack in the middle of everything and I still can't understand why the price was so low. Peter G., Syosset, N.Y.
The restaurant selections were out of this world. Usually, six to eight of us would go out to dinner every night. I don't know how he found these places, but some of the places the Professor took us were some of the best meals that I have ever had in my life, and most of them cost under 30 euros. Patricia K., Virginia Beach, VA.
The side trip to Monet's house in Giverney was great. It wasn't like one of those typical organized tours. We avoided the crowds and saw what we wanted to see at our pace. Bobby & Veronica K., Los Angeles, CA.
What I really liked about the trip was that we had the time to "discover" parts of Paris that I never heard about. For instance, there is a museum of Medical History in Paris that I visited and it was fantastic. The Professor helps and encourages you to find these types of things. Robin A., Sacramento, CA.
We met one of Steve's friends in Paris and wound up having dinner at her apartment, in full view of the Eiffel Tower. The next night we had dinner at her favorite "secret" restaurant - it was wonderful!. Amy P. and Greta J., New York University
What fun we had when Steve took us to a house party in Paris. We met so many interesting people from both Paris and other parts of the world. Lenora & Mike, Syracuse, N.Y.
The best part of the trip was going out to dinner every night with our traveling companions. We really enjoyed dining in the places Steve took us to and it was so much fun meeting everyone else on the trip. Rhonda V. and Kristen K., Columbia, S.C.
