3 Hotels in Rome

3 Hotels in Rome

The Traveling Professor uses several factors when selecting hotels for his small group tours.  Whether traveling as an individual or on one of his small group tours to Rome, here are the three main factors The Professor takes into consideration:

The hotel must be clean, comfortable and quiet.  We all want a place that we can have a good night's sleep in without worry.  All three of these hotels make the cut.

Location.  Although Rome is a wonderful walking city, attractions are widely dispersed.  Travelers want to take advantage of easy access to public transportation to easily and quickly get from one place to another.  All of the hotels listed below provide this feature.  They are all located near good dining options too or have good dining options as part of the hotel.

Value.  No one likes to overpay.  None of the lodging options here are "budget" options but they are all a good value.

Other features.  We all like good service and want to be treated as valued customers.  The Professor can tell you from his experience and the experiences of the hundreds of travelers he has taken on his small group tours to Rome, these hotels are hospitable and make for a pleasant stay.  On our small group tours, The Professor prefers hotels that are family owned.  All 3 of these Rome hotels provide the personal service that is the hallmark of family owned hotels.

Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio:  Guests will be immediately impressed with this elegant 185 room hotel.  Despite it size, everyone feels like family here.  It is perfectly located steps from the Termini train station and all the transportation connections need in Rome.  The Traveling Professor loves everything about this hotel including the breakfast and the wonderful restaurant.  The D'Azeglio is an excellent 4-star choice from the Bettoja family of hotels.  This is the hotel The Traveling Professor uses on his most recent small group tours to Rome.

Aventino Guest House: For those looking for a smaller hotel a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, the Aventino Guest House is a good choice.  Travelers will feel right at home in this intimate spot.  Who wouldn't enjoy having breakfast on a beautiful covered patio every morning?  Travelers will love being in an authentic Roman neighborhood and enjoy strolling the area searching for that perfect gelato spot after dinner.

Maison delle Naiadi:  A small hotel located right in the center of it all but tucked away on a quiet side street.  The Traveling Professor has visited  this hotel on his small group tours to Rome.  It has been newly renovated and re-named. Transportation options are excellent as it is a 5 minute walk from the train station.  It's location just off Via Nazionale makes it convenient to all transportation options, restaurants, and attractions.  It's another hotel with a wonderfully relaxing covered outdoor patio to enjoy breakfast and an Italian coffee or two.
