After breakfast at our hotel in the center of Florence, we took the 75 minute ride south into the heart of Tuscany to Siena. The walled-in ancient city sits high atop a hill. In the center is Il Campo, the best piazza in all of Italy. It is perfect for sipping a cafe and people watching on this absolutely perfect day.
The Duomo in Siena is much different than the one in Florence. I don't want to say too much about it because I want you to be surprised when you see it for yourself. Since the crowds are so small this year, we go the chance for the stunning spectacular view from The Panorama atop the Museo della Opera.
It was pizza then gelato for all before departing back to Florence.
Our farewell dinner was at Trattoria Trebbio. Happy 33rd wedding anniversary to two of our travelers, Steve and Nancy. We dined on steaks, gnocchi, traditional ribolleta, salads, pears & cheese, bruschetta, chicken and tomatoes, with a little bit of vino rosso.
After that, it was time to stroll the pedestrian friendly piazzas of Florence. With the sound of music in the air it was a perfect ending to our tour of Tuscany, Italy, and Florence.

Thank you for your anniversary wishes! This was certainly one of the best trips we've ever taken. The group was lots of fun and the weather couldn't have been better. Your assistance was invaluable in getting us around town in both Rome and Florence. Knowing the better restaurants and navigating everyone's preferences on a daily basis takes a special person.Choosing an itinerary that includes the best sights and having the forsight to know the order, times and entry passes for each of the many galleries, museums, piazzas and churches kept us moving. we covered so much in such a short time it was nothing short of amazing. Thanks for making our anniversary trip to Italy a success. Best wishes and hopes of traveling with you again.

| Italy Video Blog: Romantic Venice

On our last small group tour of Italy, about half the group (4 of us) took a 2-day extension of the trip to Venice. It exceeed my expectations in that it is more romantic than I could have possibly imagined. Venice is one of those unique places on earth because it really is a city built into the sea.
