How to Book
  • Send and email to letting us know you want to go on this trip.  We can hold a place for you up to 7 days.
  • Follow up with a $500 deposit made to TRAVELING PROFESSOR LLC.  Mail to TRAVELING PROFESSOR, 3965 COTTON GIN RD, FRISCO TX 75034.  Include all contact details.  
  • Deposits are fully refundable, no questions asked, up until 21 days after the receipt of the payment. 
  • If the minimum number of travelers isn’t reached and the tour is canceled, all deposits and payments will be promptly refunded.  
  • Wait to book airline tickets until the trip is a confirmed “go”, meaning that the minimum number of 8 people has been reached.
Important Notes
  • We ask that passengers wait to buy their airline tickets until the trip is a confirmed “go”, meaning that the minimum number of travelers (8) has been reached.  
  • Hand luggage is highly recommended. If you do intend to check a bag, be sure to carry a change of clothes and all essentials in your carry-on in case of a luggage delay.
  • A minimum of 2-3 hours per day are spent either walking or standing up. In order to fully enjoy your experience with us, we ask that our guests be able to walk and be on their feet for several hours at a time both inside and outside and in various weather conditions; be prepared to walk up ramps and slightly inclined terrain and/or several flights of stairs at a time; and carry or transport their luggage over cobblestone streets.

Visit the best cities in Canada, traveling by luxury rail.   There's plenty to enjoy in this North-of-the-Border adventure while we stay at some of the best and most historic hotels in Canada.  Montreal and Québec City offer the flavor of old Europe without the hassle of a long trans-Atlantic flight.  Toronto is the bustling international city of food and culture. Ottawa is the nation's capital, an interesting cosmopolitan city steeped in history on Lake Ontario.

The Traveling Professor is proud to inaugurate this small group tour to Canada.  We'll only take 10-14 people on The Professor's first tour outside of Europe and South America.

Join our friendly group.  We expect 50%-75% to be return travelers, with a good portion of them being solo travelers.  

DAY 1:  Arrival in Quebec City
Old Québec, a UNESCO world heritage treasure, is alive with history. Our small group stays in the ONLY place to stay, the luxurious and historic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac with views of the St. Lawrence River. We do a walking tour of the historic part of the city, enjoying the Notre-Dame-de-Québec Basilica-Cathedral, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the Jesuits Chapel, and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

DAY 2: Quebec City
A free day in the most European city in North America.  Things to do:  Old Quebec, Upper Town, Place Royale.  Quebec is the only walled city in Canada and is still home to a variety of charming old forts and military structures.  Budget some time in for shopping and outstanding eating.

DAY 3:  Montreal
After breakfast, depart Quebec City via business class rail, on a 3 1/2 hour journey to Montreal.  The top-of-the-line Hotel Queen Elizabeth is close to it all.  We will have a walking tour of the city to get us familiar with the cultural center of the province of Quebec.

DAY 4:  Montreal
Enjoy a free day in French-speaking, English-friendly, Montreal.  The best way to see it all is with a Hop-On, Hop-Off bus ticket (included with the tour) and see the sights like Old Montreal, Mount Royal, Chinatown, Crescent Street, Mile End, and much more.

DAY 5:  Ottawa
After breakfast we stroll over and embark our business-class coach on our way to Ottawa.  It's a 2-hour trip to the capital city of Canada. After check-in at the Fairmont Château Laurier, we'll do a walking tour of this charming city.

DAY 6:  Ottawa
Parliament Hill, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, Notre Dame, the Canadian Aviation Museum, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables, Byward Market are all options for you to explore on your free day.

DAY 7:
Our longest train ride of the trip, 4 hours and 45 minutes by business class rail to big-city Toronto.  Our hotel, the Fairmont Royal York is a classic and right at the train station. We'll do our guided tour in the afternoon.

DAY 8:  Toronto
There's lot to do in this bustling city.  Casa Loma is a classic home and museum. Sneak around at the Bata Shoe Museum.  Get high at the CN Tower.  Have the best meal outside of Shanghai in Chinatown, score at the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame, and have a traditional coffee and donut at busy Yonge-Dundas Square.

DAY 9, Thursday:  Depart from Toronto.  Steve and Linda will help you on your way to your next destination.

How much is it?   $2,999 per person based upon double occupancy.  Have your own room for only $1475 more.
