Authentic Neighborhood.   While the Latin Quarter is close to many tourist attractions, the area still retains its old-time authentic charm, unlike the glitzy Champs Elysees.    There are still old shops, markets, bookstores, and old timbered stone buildings.

Restaurants.  I love the restaurants in the Latin Quarter.  I just got back from a tour last week and I found some beautiful and relaxing bistros and cafes near Luxembourg Gardens.   I had lunch at my favorite spot near the Sorbonne at Le Pre Verre.   The best bakery in Paris, Pâtisserie Viennoise, is in the heart of the Latin Quarter.  I also dined at Le Coup Chou and although it is a little bit outside the Latin Quarter, at Lou Pescadou.

Hotels.  Quiet and quaint hotels rule the day in the Latin Quarter.   I was surprised by the nicely re-done Hotel Balcons.

Transportation.  I find great transportation from one destination to another from the Latin Quarter.  While it has a nice "get away from it all feel", the good transportation options to other sites and the airport make it a good choice.

So, on your next tour to Paris, try the Latin Quarter.  You will enjoy your stay.
