Of course every travel blogger is going to tell you about the suitcases they like, how to fold clothes, maybe what kind of airplane pillow to use. Today, The Professor is going to talk about some things you probably never heard of before to pack in your suitcase for your next trip.
Apple Air Tags: If you don't have them by now, go out and get a set. What are they? They are quarter-size disks that can be tracked on your iPhone. Slide one in your bag, maybe one in your wallet, and you can always track where they are. This is probably the best travel invention to come around in a long time.
Portable CO2 Detector: A must if staying in AirBnB or on a cruise ship. CO2 gases are odorless but can be fatal. A portable CO2 detector might save your life. I like this one because it is battery powered.
Microfiber Towels: These are some of the handiest thing you can have. Dry off your phone/camera, eyeglasses, outdoor seating. Washcloths are not as common overseas as they are in the US, so a microfiber towel can be used in place of one.
Pre-Emptive Meds: Before traveling, ask your health professional for prescriptions for things like antibiotics for sore throat, stomach issues, and sleeping aids. You may never need them but if you do, you won't need to hunt down a pharmacy to find them. On top of that, they add practically nothing to the weight of your luggage.
Surfshark VPN: Don't want to miss your favorite shows on Netflix, YouTubeTV, Amazon Prime while your away? These entertainment apps are usually blocked when overseas. But a VPN can make these apps it seem like your laptop or phone is in Dallas, Chicago, or New York. Don't miss that big game or TV show while away. Load the Surfshark VPN on your device before you leave.
Traction Cleats: Going to a destination where there might be snowy or icy weather, but you don't want to pack bulky snow boots? Traction cleats are perfect. They provide secure footing and hardly take up any packing space.
Power Adapter/Converter: OK, every packing list includes one of these. Even though this blog post is really for things you never thought of to pack for an overseas trip, we needed to include this one. It's our favorite. Buy it!
